SECRET SINS

Da. 2:22,28

WELCOME TO DR. CARLOTTA'S COUNSELING CENTER.

One of the reasons why Christians need the Holy Spirit to deal with their heart is because of secret sins. These are the hidden sins that we commit in our thought life, bad attitudes or wrong motives that no one really knows about Da. 2:22,28. Man has desired to hid his sins and faults, but the Father shines the light of the Holy Spirit on these areas so that we will deal with them.

This is for our own good. It may not feel that way at times because conviction makes the flesh uncomfortable. Secret sins have caused the fall of many leaders in the Bible and in out time. When there is no repentance of hidden sins, lives and ministries will fall apart. God does not initially expose these sins, but deals with the human heart individually. However, if the individual does not repent of the hidden sin, it will not be hidden forever.

God will allow it to be exposed. We need to keep the fruit of repentance in out lives. Ps. 19:12; Ps. 51:6; Ps. 32:3, 5. The Tragedy of Our Secret Sins. Saul had a good start, with excellent attributes. However, God knew that he would not last. He knew his character would not stand the pressure of being king of Israel. I Samuel 10 the beginning, soulish the- sin, I Samuel 31 "the ending." Anointed King vs.1, Strong, mighty man vs.6, Great warrior, "the beginning." Independent spirit- sin, Stripped of Kingdom, Tried to murder David, Sought after witchcraft Humble Heart vs. 9, 22 committed suicide "the ending."

David was known as a man after God's own heart. Yet, there were problems with secret sins. David had things on the inside that others did not know about, not even Samuel. 1 Samuel 17 Anointed King, Mighty warrior, Musician of the Lord, Faithful, Loyal Great Leader, Built Tabernacle of David, "the beginning." Lust-sin. 2 Samuel 11, Ps. 32 & 51, Disloyal to his men, Committed adultery, Committed murder, Tried to cover his sins, Brought judgement to his whole family, "the ending."

Solomon was the promised king to follow David. He had been given by God the responsibility of carrying out the dream of God in David of building a Temple that matched as close as humanly possible the greatness of God. II Chr. 1;7-12 "the beginning," Sin-Proud, I Kings 11, Ecl. 1, the ending. Anointed King the beginning, Sin-greedy, Turned his heart from God "the ending."

These leaders were successful at the beginning of their ministries, but experienced shame and disgrace in their lives. These men were the anointed by God and had good qualities. But there were reasons why these men suffered heartache and fell short of their potential.

They had character flaws that were never dealt with. These flaws surfaced later in life to destroy the ministry God had placed them in. They fell into sin and fell away from God.

Sometimes when we are extremely blessed and the blessings of God seem to be rolling in, we let our guard down and the enemy sets traps for us. Also, we step out with God and we never fully deal with our character flaws. Always remember that God is more interested in character than ministry, but without character, ministry does not last. The way that God deals with us is through His Word, and the conviction of the Holy Spirit II Ti. 3:16-17; He. 12:7-11.

We should have within us a desire for holiness and allow God to purify us. The golden candlestick that was used

Humble person of prayer "the beginning," Sin-wrong-values, Worshipped idols "the ending." Temple builder, "the beginning." Sin- self-confidence, Vain philosophy, "the ending." The greatest kingdom, The greatest wisdom, The greatest wealth, "the beginning." Sinned in the sight of God, His kingdom taken away, Sought to kill Jereboam, "the ending."

Author of 3,000 proverbs, Author of 10,005 songs, including Songs of Solomon.

Samson was a man endowed with strength for a purpose. He was a judge of Israel and a deliverer. But, his strength did not serve him well when pressure cam because of his promiscuity. His hidden sin brought destruction to himself. Judge 14-16, "the beginning."

Judge 16:20-27, "the ending. Dedicated to God, "the beginning." Sin-Lust, Deceived by a woman, "the ending." Great Warrior, "the beginning," Sin-gultible, Lost dedication to God, " the ending." Exceedingly strong, "the beginning," Had eyes put out, "the ending." man of faith, "the beginning," Left by the Lord, "the ending." Killed a Lion, "the beginning," Mocked and ridiculed, "the ending," Killed 30 Philistines, "the beginning," Never fulfilled potential, "the ending," Killed 10,000 soldiers, "the beginning," Lost his anointing, "the ending," Broke strong bonds, Carried off the gates of Gaza, "the beginning."

Gideon was unassuming. He saw himself as a weak man of the weakest tribe. He did not see himself as the powerful hero that the Angel of the Lord saw him as. Yet, secret sin caused his downfall. Judges 6-8 "the beginning." Judges 8, "the ending." Chosen by God, "the beginning." Sin-Power and greed, Rejected by God, "the ending." Has angels visit him, "the beginning." Made an idol, "the ending." Hated idols, "the beginning." Caused Israel to sin, "the ending." Great believer, "the beginning." Became a stumbling stone, "the ending." Great man of faith, "the beginning." His good ruined by his evil, "the ending."

These leaders were successful at the beginning of their ministries, but experience shame and disgrace in their lives. These men were the anointed by God and had good qualities. But there were reasons why these men suffered heartache and fell short of their potential. They had character flaws that were never dealt with. These flaws surfaced later in life to destroy the ministry God had placed them in. They fell into sin and fell away from God.

Sometimes when we are extremely blessed and the blessings of God seems to be rolling in, we let our guard down and the enemy sets traps for us. Also, we step out with od and we never fully deal with our character flaws. Always remember that God is more interested in character than ministry, but without character, ministry does not last. The way that God deal with us is through His Word, and conviction of the Holy Spirit. II Ti. 3:16-17; He. 12:7-11.

We should have within us a desire for holiness, and allow God to purify us. The golden candlestick that was used in the Tabernacle is a good illustration for us. The golden candlestick was made from one single piece of beaten work. This candlestick was purified by fire and fashioned into a vessel of honor. It became a vessel of light in the Tabernacle and held the Holy Anointing Oil that was poured into a bowl at the top.

God has a place of fire to burn out the dross for each Christian if we do not resist His gentle correction. We must be confident that God will produce a beautiful work in due season if we faint not. Php. 1:6.

Those who not keep their sensitivity to the Will of god will soon loose their integrity, grow callous and end up in error. Paul had someone who left the ministry team. The name Demas was mentioned with Luke Co. 4:14. Paul thought enough of Demas to list him in this letter. But we find that later Demas left Paul and went to Thessalonica II Ti. 4:10.

This happened while Paul was in prison, but Paul states that Demas left because he loved this present world. Demas was too closely connected to the world. He did not cut off the secret things that would eventually destroy him. Paul spoke highly of a man in Philippi named Epaphroditus. He was, respected and appreciated by the Philippians and Paul. he was entrusted with their sacrificial gift to Paul. He was a faithful minister with Paul, and he was faithful and committed to his ministry and fellow Christians.

Paul even said to "hold men like him in high esteem or regard." v. 20 Epaphroditus remained faithful to the ministry even in the midst of physical sickness. When circumstances get tough and stressful, will we be like Demas or Ephaphroditus? The life of a Christian is not always easy, and in the midst of trials we find out what is really in us. We can count it all joy when trials come our way and we can grow and develop in them. Ja. 1:2,3. AMEN!

If you haven't accepted Christ as your Savior simply say in an audible voice, in all sincerity from the depths of your heart, "Lord Jesus Christ, forgive me of my sins and accept me as Your child. I accept You as my personal Savior and I promise to follow the instructions of Your Word from this day on. If I fail because I am human, please help pick me up so I can try again! Thank you, Jesus, for saving me from all my sins. AMEN."

LUCKY WAS HIS NAME, MY SISTER WASN'T SO LUCKY

I THINK OF HER OFTEN

WELCOME TO PASTOR DR. CARLOTTA'S COUNSELING CENTER.

The story that is being told is true.

The nightmare began one day while I was at home relaxing in my living room in 1989. I was siting in my recliner when all of a sudden I felt a strange feeling that came over my body. The feeling was a concern for my sister, a feeling that something was wrong! All of a sudden without warning I jumped up shouting her name DEDE! There were two young gentlemen there with me that was startle and run to my side.

I called my mother and asked her has she seen my sister and she said, "now that you mention it, I haven't seen her why do you ask?" I went on in explaining to her my terrible feeling I had while relaxing at home. I asked her could she please go to her house since she was closer to where she lived and check on her. She told me she would go and get back with me later.

After 30 mins. or more my mother called and told me my sister wasn't home but her lights, T.V. and the fan was on and it smelled in there. But no sister in sight! I asked her how did she get into her apartment? She told me the door was unlocked! She said she was going back home and would check back with her later.

After hanging up my phone, I sat down wondering why was her door unlocked, where is my sister and why did I have that terrible feeling that came over me. Still worried, I called my mother back and told her that something wasn't right, go back!

She did but this time she took my other sister with her. As they approach her door again, the door was still unlocked and as they walked in, that same smell was still lingering through my sister's apartment. My mom called me and told me about the smell and that's when I told her to call the police. After she did she called me back and I asked to speak with my sister. I ask my sister to open the closet while I was on the other end of the phone.

As I was waiting on the phone for a response from my other sister, a loud scream I heard and then silence. My heart started beating faster, harder, and then the news that I didn't want to hear came true! My sister came back on the phone saying, "she's in the closet dead!" Hog tied with duck tape over her mouth and nose! I lower my head as I sat with the phone dangling in my hand. She was just 29 years old.

Have you every wondered how you would deal with a death of a family member?

Her outcome of this death was because of her drug use and trust. I tell this story because my sister was dating a young man that was a killer that already served 18 years in prison for killing two people prior to dating her and she knew it. I often wonder what was she thinking, that he would not kill her? She was on drugs and he was too! Drugs will alter your thinking, make you think your invulnerable!

Lucky is now in prison again, this time with life without parole. He was eligible for the death penalty but our lawyer said not to go for this because he could appeal it years down the road and not get it. Instead we ask for life without parole.

In our journey in this life we must be alert, discerning, in prayer, watchful, wise, and most of all in Jesus Christ. BE WISE IN YOUR DECISIONS! I often wonder, did my sister ever accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, this was my main concern for her. I truly miss her. I love you DeDe.

AMEN."

EPHESIANS 6:1-9

WELCOME TO PASTOR DR. CARLOTTA'S COUNSELING CENTER.

In the last chapter of the book of Ephesians, we now take the message from the heart of God to the world. Everyone of us is called into full-time Christian services. The term clergy and layman is not found in the Bible. Just because a person sits in the congregation does not mean he is any less in the full-time ministry than the minister standing in the pulpit. If you go to a job, and do it as unto the Lord, you are in full-time service for the Lord. You will rewarded accordingly in heaven just as the prophet or evangelist.

The pastor cannot be in all places at one time. The prophet cannot be in all places at one time. God saves students to witness to students, factory workers to witness to factory workers, businessmen to witness to businessmen, and housewives to witness to housewives. He has born-again believers in all levels of society to witness for the Lord on their level. This is what causes true revival in a nation and strengthens the country from the inside out.

Ephesians 6:1 Wives are to submit; children are to obey. Submission demands knowledge. Children do not know enough to submit, so they are commanded to obey their parents. Understanding will come through maturity. The obligation is on the parent to properly train the child in the Lord. To train them in the word, parents must know the word.

Read Proverbs 22:6 and Ephesians 6:2. Children may not understand the decisions the parents make, but they are to honor their parents. Honoring of parents brings the two-fold blessing found in Exodus 20:3. Divine health is promised for obedience and honor to parents. Prosperity and divine health begin at a young age and should continue through all of our lifetime as we grow in God's word. Read 3 John 2 and Proverbs 3:16.

Wisdom is said to have a long life in her right hand and riches and honor in her left. rebellion against parents is rebellion against authority. Rebellion against authority, to respect the ones over you. You may not agree with them, but you are to respect them. Children may not agree with their parents, but they are to respect, admire and obey them.

Read Ephesians 6:4, this verse is actually talking to parents. Provoke not children to wrath means do not aggravate hem. Children become angry when they are corrected or discipline without instruction as to why. But bring them up in the nuture discipline and admonition instruction of the Lord. When children are disciplined, they should be told what they did wrong before they are disciplined, and what the word teaches about discipline after.

Read Ephesians 6:5, Today servants and masters would be employees and bosses, labor and management. According to the flesh- means that bosses have no right to dictate to their employees in spiritual matters. They are only a boss in the flesh over natural matters. If the boss tells you to go sweep out the storeroom, you have to do it, but if he tells you to miss church and be at work, no. You need to draw a line and stand up for your rights in the Lord.

God, first of all, called you to that job to put in a lot of effort. He did not call you there to witness when you should be doing your job. Witness on your own time. How hard you work is a witness for the Lord. Spirit-filled workers should out-produce everyone on the job. They should arrive sooner and stay later than anyone.

If you are working for the Lord, you will put out as much effort when the boss is away as when he is there. If you please the Lord, you will please your boss. If you cannot please the boss by pleasing he Lord, you should not be working there in the first place. Do not be a man- pleaser. Go to your greater boss; the one who is higher than men, and pray to Him. If you have been pleasing Him, He will see that you get a raise.

He will get you a promotion, either on that job or a better one. Promotion comes from the Lord. Eph. 6:6

Read Ephesians 6:8-9 notice, whether he be bond or free, means whether ou are the boss or the employee. Whatever good thing you do, you shall receive a reward from the Lord. It does not matter what position it is, the Lord will reward you according to what you did with what you had. Read Luke 12:48 and Matthew 25:23. In vs. 9, he speaks to the boss. Spirit-filled bossess should be the best employers. In other words, bosses, treat all of your employees equally; do not play favorites. The word forbearing means stop. Stop threatening! Do not bully your employees! If they are not doing their job, correct them and encourage them.

Remember, you also have a boss in heaven, JESUS. He runs the body of Christ, treating each member equally. Treat your employees as Jesus treats you.

AMEN."

THE AREA CODE SCAM!

DO NOT DIAL 809, 284, or 876 AREA CODES

WELCOME TO PASTOR DR. CARLOTTA'S COUNELING CENTER

SCAMS! SCAMS! SCAMS! There will always be SCAMS! There are people working around the clock everyday to create SCAMS! Don't be a victim. Wisdom is the Key to overcoming the wicked things that the world has to offer. Please don't think this can't happen to you or a friend, tell everyone you know.

The url at the bottom to AT&T's website verifies this is true.

I receive alot of out of town area codes but haven't received one yet like this 809 area code. BEWARE. The call consist of a woman or man saying 'Hey, this is "whoever they may be". Sorry I missed you--get back to us immediately! I have something urgent to tell you.' Then he or she repeats a phone number beginning with 809.

Do Not DIAL AREA CODES: 809, 284, AND 876

AT&T Is providing this information below, please click on the url to see. AREA CODE 809 is being distributed all over the US. It seems very normal, especially given the way they try to get you to call. Who would think it's a scam? They sound like it's very important matter of life or death, or your a winner of a terrific, wonderful, once in a lifetime gift! Tell everyone about this, please! It's not true!

They get you to call by telling you that it is information about a family member who has been ill or to tell you someone has been arrested, died, or to let you know you have won a wonderful prize, etc. The prize part of this is very old but the other would make you think especially if you have a big family!

In each call, you are told to call the 809 number right away.. There are so many new area codes these days, people unknowingly return these calls especially if someone is telling you it's very important, or an emergency!!

If you call from the U.S., you will apparently be charged $2425 per-minute, what a RIP OFF! Or, you'll get a long recorded message to keep you on the phone as long as possible to increase your charges. Please don't be fooled, this is not a hoax! It's real!!

WHY IT WORKS: The 809 area code is located in the Dominican Republic.

The charges afterward can become real outlandish. That's because you did essentially make the call. If you protest, both your local phone company and your long distance carrier will not want to get implicated and will most likely tell you that they are simply making availble the billing for the foreign company. You'll end up transacting with a foreign company that dispute they have done nothing wrong.

Please tell your friends, family and love ones, neighbors, schoolmates, to help them become aware of this scam. They will love you for it!

Familiar Spirits LEVITICUS 19:31 Part 1

"By Their Fruits Ye Shall Know Them" Matthew 7:20

According to Matthew 18:18

Bind: Familiar Spirit

Loose: Holy Spirit and Gifts 1 Corinthians 12:9-12

A familiar spirit and a spirit of divination are very similar in nature. In fact, it is not unusual for a number of strongmen to gang up together if it serves their purpose!

When there is no clear cut distinction between these two spirits, I just bind both of them at the same time in the Name of Jesus! A familiar spirit is usually involved in the areas of necromancy, "supposed consultation with the dead", spirit mediums, clairvoyance's, yoga, spiritists, psychic powers and prophecy, transcendental meditation T.M., Extra-sensory perception E.S.P., cocaine, crack and other mind-altering drugs and internal trance inspiration or direct second sight, internal vision and passive-mind states as well as trance channeling.

Prophecy is not prediction..

People sometimes think that "prophecy" means to predict (foretell) what will happen in the future. Actually, the simple gift of prophecy is essentially forthtelling; it is a ministry to make people better and more useful Christians now. Prophecy in the New

Testament church carries no prediction with it whatsoever, for "he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort" (I Corinthians 14:3). Notice that there is no mention of the word prediction here.

The ability to contact the spirits is often passed from one generation to the next within reception families, which may amount in part for its name, "familiar." The word familiar comes from the root word "family". Even though someone may have accepted Christ as their Savior it is still necessary to renounce in an audible voice any past experiences he or members of his family may have had with any of these practices.

It is possible for a Christian to be harassed by demonic forces that believe they still have access rights to him because of their past affiliations with either he or his family. Most of us are unaware of the relationships our grandparents or great-grandparents may have had with Satan. We don't know whether they delved into the occult and other forbidden practices either purposely or through ignorance.

Understand now, that does not make us demons possessed if we are now living according to God's Word. It simply means that we must close those doors permanently in our lives which we would certainly have done earlier had we known it was necessary. I want to make this CLEAR! We inform Satan and his harassing demons that, based on the Word of God, we are breaking all pacts we or our relatives may have made in the past with him because we are now under new ownership.

We are new creatures in Christ Jesus! In our personal ministry we have found that these threads from the old life have to be severed before people can find full liberty in the Spirit. We automatically lead people in a prayer of renunciation from occultic, psychic practices in our crusades, especially when they want to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. It certainly doesn't harm them to do so and we have seen the freedom it brings to those who want the fullness of the Spirit in their lives.

God's Words is very explicit where a familiar spirit is involved. "A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them" Leviticus 20:27 God is so vehement in His denunciation of these practices because people who seek unholy spirits for guidance are actually breaking the first commandment. This type of spirit communication brings judgement on the participant according to Exodus 20:5, "...for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and forth generation of them that hate me;"

If there were ever an illustration of how far astray the pseudo guidance of mediums and necromancers can lead an individual, it is SAUL. Read I Chronicles 10:13, 14.

MIND READERS

Possibly you have seen people on television who appeared to read the minds of complete strangers. The truth is that unless they were con artists, with an accomplice feeding them information via special code words, they were probably tuned into a familiar spirit.

GOD'S GUIDANCE

God's method of directing the lives of His children is found in His divinely inspired Word. The psalmist tells us God's Word "...is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" Psalm 119:105. When we read and meditate upon the Bible, the Holy Spirit teaches us the truth we need to live a successful, righteous life. Jesus instructed the disciples to depend on the Holy Spirit for their future guidance. "But the

Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrances, whatsoever I have said unto you" John 14:26.

More to come on each Familiar Spirit and their definitions listed at the beginning of this HUB. Blessings!!

AMEN."

THE RESURRECTION!

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him. He himself was not the light, but he came to testify to the light. The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world.

He was in the world, and the world came into being through him; yet the world did not know him. He came to what was his own, and his own people did not accept him. But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God, who were born, not of blood or of the will of the flesh or of the will of man, but of God.

And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father's only son, full of grace and truth. (John testified to him and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me ranks ahead of me because he was before me.’ ”) From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. The law indeed was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. It is God the only Son, who is close to the Father's heart, who has made him known.

The Apostle Paul's Compelling Words

"Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received, I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also…" 1 Corinthians 15:1-8

If There Were No Resurrection

There were still many living witnesses of the resurrected Christ in Paul’s time. Most compelling is the testimony of those who walked most closely to Jesus. These were people who saw Jesus suffering, from His sweat and blood agonizing in the garden of Gethsemane, to His betrayal, His unjust trial and crucifixion. They would have had the most to lose for keeping the teachings of Christ alive, and they knew it, hence the running scared after His death. But these former cowards who had abandoned their Master when he needed them most, risked their lives to preach that He lives.

All of the apostles, with the exception of John, died a martyr's death. If Jesus had not risen, they wouldn't have risked this fate.

Without the Resurrection, We Would Have No Hope of Deliverance from Sin

Paul speaks to this with his most startling passages in the Bible, “You see at the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:6

Sin and death entered the world through a man, Adam, and a man, the one who was also God, died to take it away. Paul says, “For just as through the disobedience of one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of one man the many will be made righteous.” Without the Resurrection, Jesus’ obedience was for naught. But we can give thanks that all will be well. “So just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 5:19-20

In I Corinthians 15:17-18, Paul tells us if Christ had not been raised, “Then those who have fallen asleep are lost.” Along with so much hope their lives inspired. And that is just depressing.

But they are not lost. At the end of that riveting chapter, verses 51-53, Paul writes, “Listen, I tell you a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.” And what will we change into? The exquisite garment of immortality! This is the hope of every believer, of all times. The brand-spanking-new Easter clothing we wear to church is but a homely picture of what is to come: we will be changed. We will be brand-new.

DEALING WITH SELF-ESTEEM

WELCOME TO PASTOR DR. CARLOTTA'S COUNSELING CENTER

Symptoms of inferiority and low-esteem include the fact that the person feels bad about themselves, especially when they are criticized. Self-esteem deals with the evaluation we make of ourselves, as to our value, our competence, and our significance. Good mental health will include good self-esteem.

BIBLE TEACHING ON SELF-ESTEEM

Considerable differences of opinion come from those involved in mental health, saying man is worthless and must destroy any satisfaction with ourselves that may exist, while others write that a positive self-image is correct because of our new nature as new creatures in Christ Jesus. This includes the sense of value, which comes when realization is there of a restored relationship with their Creator.

The requirement here is that we understand that there is a difference between terms that show us in a bad light, and those which are accurate and good. For instance, putting off the sinful nature is not putting ourselves down. Self-denial is not the same as self-denigration, nor is humility the same as humiliation. Being unworthy does not mean we are worthless. We are to have positive self-esteem because of the finished work of Christ, not because we have done anything.

THE BIBLE TEACHES HUMAN WORTH

Throughout its pages, the Bible testifies of God's view of men being very valuable in His sight. He has crowned us with glory and honor. He sent His Son to die for us, though we did not deserve it. Angels guard us, the Holy Spirit guides us, and the Scriptures teach us of who we are in Christ Jesus.

THE BIBLE TEACHES ABOUT HUMAN SIN.

All are sinners because of Adam's sin. Sin is rebellion. Yet, God sent Jesus to deliver us out of it. God hates sin, but loves the sinner. Though sin has broken man's relationship with God, it still does not stop God from loving and reaching out to us.

THE BIBLE TEACHES AGAINST PRIDE

Pride is not the same as self-esteem. Pride elevates the self with exaggerated desire to win notice or have the highest position. It is an over-estimation of who we really are, without a desire to climb over others to take their position.

THE BIBLE SPEAKS ABOUT SELF-LOVE

Self-love is not erotic or self-adoration. It simply means that we understand that we are saved by grace, and are loved and valued by God. It is also the fact that we understand that we are valued members of the Body of Christ, who are to supply or minister to others.

CAUSES OF LOW SELF-ESTEEM/INFERIORITY

There is a tendency toward faulty theology. If we feel worthless because of sin, we feel inferior. However, sin does not make us insignificant to God. Some feel they must self-crucify themselves. However, Christ has already gone through that for us. We are simply to identify with what He has done. Self-crucifixion will cause us to deny or squelch the abilities, talent, personalities, and capacities God has placed in us that we may accomplish His purpose in life.

Sin and guilt tend to create low self-esteem. Violating the sin principle, we feel remorse and disappointment due to the guilt of failure to keep God's Law. Past experiences affect our measure of ourselves. The difference of self-worth we feel are more impacted by whether we are educated well than by whether we are Christian or not. Many times failure comes because of what others expect of us, rather than our own success or failure.

Parent/Child relationships impact self-esteem. Feelings of inferiority can come in a child when they are punished out of balance to the misbehavior, criticized excessively or rejected continually, have unrealistic goals set for them, feel that they are stupid, receive no significant touches, or are so controlled or dominated that they do not learn to take charge of their own lives until dumped into that situation.

Unrealistic expectations and ideals will potentially bring about low self-esteem. Setting ourselves up for failure will bring the results of strong feelings of inferiority. False beliefs concerning whose standards and expectations must be met, feeling pressure because of failure, or failing to master our world cause low self-esteem.

EFFECTS OF LOW SELF-ESTEEM/INFERIORITY

The person with low self-esteem will feel isolated and unlovable. The see themselves as too weak to overcome their perceived deficiencies. They will have a lack of drive, due to their psychological condition, to defend themselves. Many of these people have a problem getting along with others.

They will have a lack of inner peace and security. They tend to withdraw socially, and become critical or jealous of others. They will complain, be argumentative, intolerant, and hypersensitive.

PREVENTION OF LOW SELF-ESTEEM/INFERIORITY

Prevention comes first of all from teaching. Some people have been taught that spiritual people should put themselves down, as if that is humility. Others have been taught that God is sitting on His throne, just waiting for them to make a mistake so He can hit them over the head with His big hammer. These wrong conceptions of Christianity must gbe faced with true teaching that God loves us and that is why we love ourselves. We accept what comes from God, the abilities and gifts, and experience His forgiveness with praise for what He has done for us. What the Bible truly teaches is the best self-concept a Christian can have. READ IT!!!!

AMEN."

THE GIFT OF FAITH

Posted by Pastor's Dr.'s Rob and Carlotta Boles on March 21, 2010 at 2:10 PM Comments comments (2)

SUPERNATURAL ABILITY

WELCOME TO PASTOR DR. CARLOTTA'S COUNSELING CENTER.

The gift of faith is a supernatural ability to believe and trust God for the impossible. It is an opportunity or a catalyst to the supernatural realm. This kind of faith raises a rousing of self-assurance that is able to stand any given circumstance. It is based on the word of God and the working of the Holy Spirit. We need the gift of faith in the body of Christ today to exhibit the power of Christ to this generation. Though this gift, one can have faith that is liberated from disbelief and concern, faith that rests upon God's will and nothing else.

It is because of this kind of faith Jesus was able to sleep in a storm, Daniel was able to sleep among the lions without fear or disbelief, the three Hebrew children walked in the fiery furnace with the Lord, and Paul was able to sleep in jail. It was because of this kind of faith that Moses was able to face Pharaoh and Elijah was able to face prophets of Baal. With this kind of faith we can command mountains to move. We can change impossibilities into possibilities. Like the prophet, we can speak meat into the empty barrel (I kings 17:22), and with this of faith, death, blindness, leprosy, demons, and all manner of sickness and diseases will respond.

Faith that is a gift of the Holy Spirit. This is the kind of faith we are talking about. See Matt. 21:21, and I Cor. 13:2. This kind of faith results in a lot of supernatural activities. It is a rush of the Holy Spirit anointing that speaks to mountains and commands the impossible to be changed into the impossible. The gift of faith should not be confused with the faith inspired by saving grace. This faith leads to salvation. It is born in one's heart as he hears the gospel and believes unto salvation. It is called saving faith in John 1:12 and John 3:16. Read also Eph. 2:8, Romans 12:3, and Galations 3:26.

There ia another kind of faith that is realized as believer bears the fruit of the Spirit. It is created as we abide in Christ and allow the Holy Spirit to work in us. Read Galations 5:22, and Colossians 2:5.

Here are some examples of the gift of faith:

Elijah operated in the gift, I Kings 17:4,6.

Daniel had this kind of faith that God would protect him, Daniel 6:23.

Abraham had a gift of faith, Romans 4:20-21.

Moses was a man of faith. Through his faith in God, a lot of miracles were performed for the children of Israel.

Elisha was operating under this gift when he ministered to a woman who had financial problems, II Kings 4:3,4.

It should be noted that on many occasions the gift of faith works in teamwork with other power gifts healing, miracles. Sometimes it is hard to separate them but the important thing is that they are all from the same Spirit. How the gift of faith operates is it's appearance of the Holy Spirit. One has to be in one harmony with Godhead for this gift to operate, John 5:19, 20; Num. 16:28; I King 18:36-39; Acts 2:1-4. One may feel a ruch of power that sovereignly promote his faith to such a depth that he demands a miracle in the name of Jesus, without considering the impossibilities or possible failures. All he sees is the end results. Ex. 14:21; I Kings 17:22; I Kings 18:33-39; Acts 28:5, 14:8-10; 13:11.

This kind of faith can only be continued if the vessel has been cleansed and dedicated to God for utmost performance. Otherwise. sin will short-circuit it. The gift of faith does not always work instantly. In fact, in most cases it works gradually, except where it goes beyond with the gift of miracles.

A word of caution, it is impossible to exaggerate the teaching of faith to the point of imbalance. We always have to remain in the proper direction. Now that there are proper conditions that have to be met before our faith can successfully operate.

Faith has to be mixed with love! Faith alone without love is useless, Gal. 5:6. Faith has to be mixed with holy living. You cannot expect to operate by faith while you are living an unclean life. Righteousness will strengthen your faith. Pro. 10:24. Faith has to be balanced and realistic, realistic in the sense that it has to be in the line with God's Word. Some people pull scriptures out of context and then try to claim them unconditionally. This comes from the human spirit, not the Holy Spirit. It is dishonest, and does not work.

Faith can only work within its limitations, the will of God. If you faith is outside God's will you will end up losing and be disappointed. Faith has its timing. Sometimes we claim God's promises without considering God's timing. We have to learn to be patient and learn to be patient and learn to pray. "Lord, your will be done in your timing."

LAYING ON OF HANDS!

MINISTRY HEALING

WELCOME TO PASTOR DR. CARLOTTA'S COUNSELING CENTER.

During the ministry of Jesus, the most commonly recorded means of ministering healing was the "laying on of hands." Sometimes He spoke words in order to heal Matthew 8:7-8, 13;9:6-7, but most of the time. He laid His hands on those before Him who needed healing Matthew 8:14-15; Mark 1:40; 7:32-35; Luke 4:40; 5:12-13.

Right before His ascension, Jesus told His disciples to carry this tradition on into the future. Mark 16:17-18 "These signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won't hurt them.

They will be able to place their hands on the sick and heal them."

Reading through the book of Acts, it is apparent that this is exactly what happened. Read Acts 5:12 and 9:11. Hebrews 6:1-2 " So let us stop going over the basics of Christianity again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don't need to start all over again with the importance of turning away from evil deeds and placing our faith in God.

You don't need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection f the dead, and eternal judgment." It became one of the foundational doctrines of the early church. The idea of laying on of hands is a practice that goes back to the Old Covenant Under the Old Covenant, it was done as a means of transference of authority and inheritance:

Jacob laid his hands on his grandsons Ephraim and Manasseth, to pronounce a blessing over each of them. Genesis 48:14-16.

Moses laid his hands on Joshua to transfer his authority and rulership to him. Numbers 27:18.

The Priest laid hands on the scapegoat to impute the sins of Israel. Leviticus 16:21.

No matter what the instance, laying on of hands was used as a means of transferring something from one party to another.

Then Jesus came along and started ministering healing through the laying on of hands. There flowed from Him a power that effected healing in the physical body of the person to whom He ministered. Read Matthew 9:29; 20:34; and Mark 7:33. The multitudes of that day very quickly got the idea that there was power power coming from Jesus, and they followed Him seeking to simply touch Him, so that they might be healed. Read Matthew 14:35-36; Mark 6:56. Luke 6:19 NKJV "And the multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all."

Today, the laying on of hands is still one of the main God-given ways for healing power to be transferred to sick people. Jesus said that believers would lay their hands on the sick and the sick would recover. Why would this work for someone who is not some kind of professional minister? It works because the very life and power of God dwells within every believer. Every believer has the ability to transfer that life and power to someones who needs healing.

It works just as well today as it did in Jesus day. Back then it took a certain amount of nerve, guts, if you will to lay hands on sick people, expecting their health to change either quickly or slowly. Today is no different. Whenever we lay hands on the sick we are laying ourselves on the line, risking the ridicule of people who may not understand or who may disagree.

Whether anybody understand, agrees, applauds or even likes it at all, laying on of hands is still one od God's ways of transmitting His healing power into the bodies of sick people.

AMEN."
