Transference Of Spirits

Transference Of The Spirits

I Corinthians 2:11-14
WELCOME TO PASTOR DR. CARLOTTA'S COUNSELING CENTER.

We must go to the Word of God to fully understand transference and counter-transference of spirits. Jesus is the ultimate expert, so we should find out what He has to say about it. Humanists do not consider human beings to be trichotomous, or comprised of three (3) parts. They consider humans to be dichotomous, two-part beings.

The Bible teaches that we have a spirit, a soul and a body. We are triune beings formed in the image and likeness of God, only the lower animal life is dichotomous. To understand this fully, look at I Corinthians 2:11-14, which deals with areas that will be very informative, namely transference and counter-transference of spirits.

A counselor without understanding of spiritual things will listen to what a patient communicates. The counselor can identify with that particular person's thoughts, desires, moods, and feelings. In other words, the counselor has compassion and relates to what the patient is saying. The counselor opens themselves up to receive what the person has to say, good or bad, which makes them open to receive the person's spirit.

A transference and possibly a counter-transference takes place. A counselor has to open himself up, having feeling and compassion for the patient. Jesus shows us that He had this kind of feelings for us when he said, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" Matt. 11:28.

We may not realize what is happening, but there is transference and counter-transference taking place. Jesus takes our burden and He sets us free. He says, "Put all your burdens on me, because I care for you."

When Character trait or behavioral habit of the father or mother begins to show up in a child, a transference has taken place. That child does not even know how it came about or why they now act that way. It does not take long for these demons to begin to activate themselves. Suddenly, the child acts in a terrible manner.

Definitions of transfer include: "To convey from one person to another, from one place to another or from one situation to another." Hence, spirits can be transferred from one (1) person to another person. Transfer also means "an act, or a process, the carry-over of learned responses from one type of situation to another."

For example, a transformer is something that allows power to go through it and be changed. It has that ability. Transference, or transforming, means the changing of power from one to another. That is why when the Word says, "He has delivered us," it means He has transferred us into the Kingdom of His Son. Co. 1:13-15.

We see then that transference is used to change one thing to another, good or bad. As individuals, we have to be careful how we are influenced by surroundings, atmosphere, attitudes, behaviors and spirits. It is up to us to discern the motive or the spirit in a person. Transference and influence can occur when we are not paying attention to what is going on.

We can be deceived, and invaded by these spirits even though we are not asking or desiring it.

If you haven't accepted Christ as your Savior simply say in an audible voice, in all sincerity from the depths of your heart, "Lord Jesus Christ, forgive me of my sins and accept me as Your child. I accept You as my personal Savior and I promise to follow the instructions of Your Word from this day on. If I fail because I am human, please help pick me up so I can try again! Thank you, Jesus, for saving me from all my sins. AMEN."

Go with God and be Blessed!
